CORDIS, The European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is offering a new site dedicated to the key action for 'Sustainable Management and quality of water', available on the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (EESD) web service. The site offers a comprehensive picture of the key action and direct access to many innovative solutions developed through completed or on-going research projects under the Fifth Framework programme as well as previous programmes. Over 120 projects can be consulted covering, for example. water conservation, waste and water management, computer-assisted management of scarce resources and pollution detection. All products, services, tools and technologies are presented with descriptions and contact details in order to ease transfer. In addition, the site offers links to reference documents on legislation in force and in preparation, as well as to key official information. A list of contacts within the European Commission is also provided. The site will prove useful for local stakeholders and innovation actors interested in taking up new approaches to integrated management of water resources, ecological quality of freshwater ecosystems, treatment technologies, pollution prevention and surveillance, and more water-related exploitable research results.
