The European commission's Enterprise DG has announced a call for tenders for a study on heavy duty engine validation of the world harmonised duty cycle (WHDC). The study will relate to validation of the WHDC test cycle and applicable measurement and sampling procedures, investigation of the driveability of this test cycle for compression ignition and positive ignition heavy duty engines. Additionally a comparison of new standard measurement procedures to existing constant volume sampling measurement procedures under transient and steady state conditions will be made.
