Council renamed
Following the entry into force of the Treaty on European Union (the Maastricht Treaty), the Council of the European Communities, by its Decision 93/591 of 8 November 1993, is now named "The Council of the European Union". The Council of the European Union shall use this designation, in particular in all the acts which it adopts, and in political declarations which it adopts under the common foreign and security policy, which will thus be made in the name of "the European Union".
