The European Commission, Directorate-General for Environment, Nuclear Safety and Civil Protection (DG XI) has issued a call for tenders for the assessment of the financial and economic costs of measures to be taken in the event of any reduction of the maximum admissible concentration for lead in drinking water. This study is part of the work to bring up to date Directive 80/778/EEC. Work should be started in the middle of 1994 and provisional results made available approximately four months after the contract is signed. Only independent consultants and research bodies with supporting references covering technical and operational aspects relevant to the study will be considered for this contract.
