A Commission Decision of 8 February 1994 implements the Community rules for State aid to the coal industry. The Commission shall authorize, in accordance with Decision 3632/93/ECSC, financial measures by Member States in aid of the coal industry. That Decision provides that the Member States must notify the Commission by 30 September each year of all the financial support which they intend to grant to the coal industry in the following year, together with the reasons for the aid, its scope and its relation to the modernization, rationalization, restructuring and/or activity reduction plan. The present Decision sets up a common framework for presenting such data to ensure that it is comparable and in order to check the information. A number of Annexes to the Decision include forms for the notification of data (forecasts and real data), notification of the financing of social security benefits in the coal industry, the declaration of supply contract for coal produced in the EU and intended either for blast furnace coke manufacture or for Powdered Coal Injection (PCI) in the steel industry, and the declaration of supply contract for coal intended for power stations in the EU. Notes on each are provided.
