Financial support for raising environmental awareness
The Commission has launched a call for proposals for European organizations active in the environmental area whose activities cover all or some part of the Member States or the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. In the context of the 5th Action Programme on the Environment ("Towards Sustainability", OJ No C 138 of 17.5.1993) Community grants shall be made available to: - Promote the dissemination among the NGOs of detailed and effective information on the Community and on Community policy in relation to the environment; - Promote general cooperation among NGOs and offer incentives for joint actions in providing information and raising governmental awareness on a more European scale; - Promote cooperation and dialogue between the NGOs and other partners in the 5th Action Programme.
