A call has been launched by DG XIII of the European Commission for proposals from existing programme partners and potential new participants for accompanying measures on telematics engineering. A work programme has been drawn up which sets out the detailed objectives, measures and financial arrangements. The subjects which will be covered are: - A survey of current and emerging methods and tools for systems development, integration, software production and distribution environments, with emphasis on standards and interoperability (application engineering); - Preparations for implementation of general guidelines for telematics projects in the Fourth Framework Programme; - Preparations for general operations and procurement recommendations for telematics projects under the Fourth Framework Programme; - A study of future trends in process engineering in the user sectors covered by the telematics programme which includes, among others, hospitals, universities, public administrations and technology-based companies. It is expected that each of these studies will last for six months. The total Community budget allocation is expected to be in the region of ECU 1 million. A detailed copy of the work-programme and further information on the procedures to be followed in submitting a proposal can be requested from: European Commission DG XIII Telematic Systems Proposals Office 200 rue de la Loi (BU 29 4/76) B-1049 Brussels
