The European Commission has recently authorized Dutch State aid for a number of research and technological development projects: - Pilot projects in telematics, to promote the realization of a telematics infrastructure in the Netherlands. Aid budget of ECU 5 million during 1993 (Aid No N 388/93); - Technology stimulation. A scheme to encourage additional RTD efforts in the areas of information technology, material technology, biotechnology and environmental technology. Aid of 49 million (Aid No N 308/93); - Research programme "Consumer Integrated Circuits" (Aid No 341/93) to support research by Philips in the field of consumer ICs. Aid of ECU 3.6 million during 1993; - Aid to Philips for research in the domain of "mechatronica" (Aid No N 342/93). Budget of ECU 15 million during 1993; - Support for research by Philips in the context of the EUREKA project JESSI (the Joint European Sub-Micron Silicone Initiative). Aid of ECU 12 million during 1993 (Aid No N 344/93); - Support for research undertaken by Philips in the field of LCDs. A total aid budget of ECU 15.7 during 1993 (Aid No N 340/93); - Aid to Philips research in the domain of radiology, ECU 1.8 million during 1993 (Aid No N 343/93); - Aid to Philips' participation in the EUREKA project on High Definition Television (HDTV) during 1993. Maximum budget of ECU 7 million (Aid No N 345/93).
