DRIVE/ATT transport telematics projects selected
In June 1993 the Commission published a call for the testing and validation of developments and results in ongoing transport telematics research (in the context of the DRIVE programme for dedicated road infrastructure for vehicle safety in Europe). Technical evaluation of the proposals resulted in recommendations for two existing projects to be extended and for funding of a further eight new projects. The eight selected projects, and their related topics, are as follows: - MIRO (Mobility Impact, Responses and Opinions); - COMBICOM II (Combined transport Communications systems); - DESPINA (Demand Spreading through Pre-trip Information using Advanced telematics transport (ATT)); - KITE (Kernel project on Impact of Transport Telematics on the Environment); - EMCATT (Electromagnetic Compatibility of Advanced Transport Telematics); - GEM (Generic Evaluation Methodology for integrated driver support applications); - MITHOS (Monitoring Intermodal Transport of Hazardous goods); - FAST/TITE (Facilitated Access to Telematics for SMEs).
