Following the Council Decisions concerning the Third Framework Programme (1990-1994) and the specific programme in the field of human capital and mobility, the European Commission has invited proposals for projects within the Community system of research fellowships. As a result of this call, addressed to organizations wishing to receive fellows, a selection round was organized for a part of the submitted proposals, and the Commission decided on 20 May 1994 to approve for funding the proposals made by the institutes listed in the text (TXT) field of this RTD-News item. Each of these institutes has available a number of places for young researchers to take part in research projects. The Commission has now issued a new call, open continuously, inviting young scientists to apply directly to the selected institutes. Applications are invited from scientists primarily at post-doctoral level. From among the candidatures received, the institutes themselves will choose their potential fellows ("pre-selection"). Further selection rounds will be carried out at regular intervals for those institutions which have not been able to fill their vacancies during the first round. Institutes should send their choices of potential fellows to the following address: European Commission Human Capital and Mobility programme DG XII/G-1 (Institutional fellowships) Attn. Mr. J.
