The European Community Telework/Telematics Forum (ECTF) is an independent, non-profit association, launched under the auspices of the European Commission, DG XIII, in January 1992. It provides a framework for concertation on telework and related telematics applications for Member States, by promoting the exchange and dissemination of information between telework projects and organizations interested in telework. These actions are carried out by means of seminars, conferences, publications, and electronic library conferencing. The ECTF is an open forum in which over 3,000 organizations and individuals participate; they represent European regional governments, development agencies, telephone operators and equipment manufacturers and other private and public sector organizations. Global concertation and dissemination are implemented through the network of 30 ECTF coordinators covering the EU and EFTA countries, the USA, Japan and Singapore. The ECTF is open to any individual or public or private organization interested in the development, stimulation, and implementation of telework and the development of enabling methodologies and technologies.
