Commission guidelines for Community initiatives
The European Commission has published notices to the Member States of guidelines for global grants or integrated operational programmes for the following initiatives: - Restructuring of the fisheries sector (PESCA); - Urban areas (URBAN); - The adaptation of small and medium-sized enterprises to the single market (SMEs Initiative); - Modernization of the Portuguese textile and clothing industry; - Regions heavily dependent on the textiles and clothing sectors (RETEX); - Defence conversion (KONVER); - The economic conversion of steel areas (RESIDER II); - The economic conversion of coal-mining areas (RECHAR II); - The most remote regions (REGIS II); - Border development, cross-border cooperation and selected energy networks (INTERREG II); - Rural development (LEADER II). In addition, the Commission has published communications to the Member States laying down guidelines for operational programmes or global grants which Member States are invited to propose within the framework of a Community initiative: - On the employment and development of human resources; - On the adaptation of the workforce to industrial change (ADAPT).
