The European Commission has published a call for tenders to describe and analyse in depth the devices and instruments used to anticipate the effects of changes in industry on employment, occupations and vocational qualifications in all European Union Member States. The research will involve the following: - Description and analysis of current policies for anticipating and forecasting the repercussions of changes in industry on employment, occupations and vocational qualifications, in conjunction with policies implemented in the labour market and the economic situation in the Member State involved; - Description and analysis of the devices, instruments, methods and possible statistical indicators used under these anticipation and forecasting policies, at both macroeconomic (sectoral, intersectoral, interprofessional and territorial) and microeconomic level (distinguishing between the types of company: small and medium-sized, and large enterprises); - Description and analysis of methods for financing the anticipation devices and instruments; - Proposal, where appropriate, of alternative instruments for anticipating and forecasting requirements in respect of jobs and qualifications, based on the analyses described above; - Definition of the profile of pilot projects incorporating the instruments described above. The entire research project will comprise 12 national studies and a synthesis report. Promotion of equal opportunities for men and women in the workplace will be borne in mind, since this constitutes a priority of the Community Structural Funds.
