The European Commission, DG XIII, has published a call for proposals under the IMPACT programme (Information Market Policy Actions) under the action line "Awareness. User support and Training". A network of National Awareness Partners (NAPs) has been established and a number of training actions have been initiated as initial projects on an experimental basis. Emphasis in these actions has in particular been placed on SMEs and the LFRs. This notice concerns a project to develop an interactive multimedia station that can be used by NAPs (and others) as an awareness and basic training tool, introducing the concept of information as a strategic resource to SMEs and providing the basic training on this. The characteristics of the tool are: - The station itself will be a "shell" to which data is forwarded using ISDN and other suitable telecommunication means; - Conceptually it will work with a modular approach, where some modules are general and for all industry sectors, and others are for specific industry sectors; - It should be developed in a way that makes it possible to add more industry specific modules; - Specific modules can be delivered/exchanged on demand and according to needs. Requests for further information and tender documents should be addressed to: European Commission DG XIII/E/2 Mr Axel Szauer Batiment Jean Monnet L-2920 Luxembourg Tel. +352-430133526; Fax +352-430132847
