The European Commission, Directorate-General for Industry, intends to commission a study of the social impact linked to the implementation of a quality policy in European industry. The study will concern the countries of the European Union. Tenders should cover a sufficient number of countries to ensure that the figures produced are representative of the European situation. The study is intended to: - Analyse the social aspects of the implementation of a quality plan in companies; - Assess changes in the motivation and behaviour of salaried staff following implementation of the quality plan. The study will also analyse the effects of quality plans on employment, the new qualifications and/or skills required and will determine the professions and sectors principally concerned. The study will also cover the necessary conditions, in terms of social aspects, for the quality plan to succeed. The total time taken to complete the study should not exceed six months.
