The European Commission has published a call for tender for expert positions in Directorate-General for Telecommunications, Information market and Exploitation of Research (DG XIII). Temporary technical assistance is required in a number of fields under its responsibility. Five posts are planned in the following fields: - Economic and structural analysis of the telecommunications sector; - Political and economic analysis of the communication technologies sector; - Mechanisms for financing trans-European telecommunications networks; - Management of the data-processing file: preparation and installation of data-processing tools for budgetary and financial management; - Management support in the framework of DG XIII's part of the COPERNICUS programme and management of grants. Applications and tenders may be submitted for one or more of these positions. The contracts are for an initial period of one year (220 working days). At the Commission's discretion this period may be extended twice up to a maximum of three years (660 working days). This call is addressed to self-employed individuals or legal entities. The place of work will be the Commission's premises in Brussels. Details of the criteria to be used in the evaluation of tenders will be provided in the formal invitation to tender.
