The Consumer Policy Service of the European Commission has published an open call for tender for a service contract concerning the safety of gas and liquid-fuel appliances. The study will examine possible gaps in Member State regulations related to the installation, maintenance and inspection of gas and liquid-fuel appliances, in order to determine a course of action which could reduce the number of accidents. The contractor will be required to submit an interim and a final report to the services of the Commission. Both reports are subject to acceptance. Details of the expected content of the reports are included in the technical annex to the tender documents. The study is to be completed within six months of the date the contract is signed.
