Following adoption of the specific programme on advanced communications technologies and services (ACTS)(1994-1998), and in preparation for a call for proposals, the European Commission is launching a call for expressions of interest in the programme. ACTS, the successor to the RACE programme, addresses the following areas of research, technological development and demonstration: - Interactive digital multimedia systems and services; - Photonic technologies; - High-speed networking; - Mobility and personal communications networks; - Intelligence in networks and services engineering; - Quality, security and safety of communications services and systems; - Horizontal actions. There will be an ACTS Proposers/National Hosts Conference on 19-20 October 1994 in Madrid. Over the years the Commission has accumulated a large number of addresses of persons who have expressed an interest in participating in Community programmes. The Commission would now like to receive positive confirmation that each person is still interested in remaining on its mailing list. In the absence of any confirmation, it will assume that the person is no longer interested in receiving information on ACTS, nor information of a more general nature. To confirm your interest in remaining on the Commission's mailing list, for details of the conference, and for information on submitting expressions of interest, please contact: ACTS Central Office E-mail: ACO@postman.dg13.cec.be E-mail: 100302.2607@compuserve.com or European Commission DG XIII-B ACTS Central Office 200 rue de la Loi (BU 9 4/82) B-1049 Brussels Tel. +32-2-2963415; Fax +32-2-2950654
