The EFTA Surveillance Authority has authorized State aid in Finland for industrial research and development. The aid would take the form of grants and soft loans, in order to promote research and development with the aim of developing internationally competitive products, production processes and services. The aid intensity is 50% for basic industrial research and 25% for applied research and development. The conditions on which the aid is granted include the submission of a detailed annual report, and the notification of individual cases exceeding ECU 20 million (ECU 30 million for EUREKA projects, of which ECU 4 million is provided by the national authorities).
