Environment and quality of life
The European Commission, DG XII, has published a report entitled "Environment and quality of life - Research fields in the area of environmental analysis". The publication presents the results of eight scientific workshops which were organized by the measurements and testing programme within the Third RTD Framework Programme which identified research needs in the field of environmental analysis. The report covers the following topics: - Quality assurance for soil and sediment analysis; - Trends in surface water analysis; - Improvement of trace element determinations in plant matrices; - Trends in specialization analysis; - Single and sequential extraction schemes for soils and sediment analysis; - Harmonization of leaching/extraction schemes for environmental risk assessment; - State of the art of determination of plychlorinated dibenzo dioxins and furans.
