Agriculture and fisheries information package
The European Commission, DG XII, has published an information package for the specific programme dealing with agriculture and fisheries (including agro-industry, food technologies, forestry, aquaculture and rural development) under the Fourth Framework Programme for research and technological development and demonstration (1994-1998). The objectives of the programme are to promote and harmonize research in the major European primary production food and non-food sectors of agriculture, horticulture, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture. The programme is extremely diverse in nature, covering all aspects of the production and utilization of biological raw materials, with the aim of developing new markets, products and processes for the raw materials coming from agriculture, forestry and fisheries. It will support evolving Community policies in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, forestry, industry, energy and the environment, and will underpin the conclusions of the White Paper on Growth, Competitiveness and Employment, especially in relation to European objectives concerning the development of biotechnology and the protection of the environment. A call for proposals for the programme was published on 15 December 1994 (OJ No C 357 of 15.12.1994). The information package provides all the information necessary for participating in the call, including: - Proposal criteria; - Proposal preparation; - Proposal submission guidelines; - Evaluation and selection of proposals; - Contact procedures and principles; - Information and assistance.
