The Centre for Earth Observation (CEO) of the Joint Research Centre has published a call for tender for a market analysis study. The purpose of the study is to analyse the growth and development trends in the usage of earth observation (EO) data products and services which will progressively accrue following the implementation of the CEO programme in 1999. The specific areas on which the study will focus are as follows: - Analyse the current market situation for EO data products and services, both qualitatively and quantitatively; - Define the main types of users and service providers who will use the CEO; - Determine how these existing users and service providers interface; - Assess the market potential of the CEO, including: . The probable future size and orientation of the market after 1999; . Market development trends of importance to the CEO; . Other determinants such as technology, cost, pricing, etc.; . Assess the improvements in EO data usage following the implementation of the CEO; .
