Telematics for health, global information society and developing countries
In March 1995, the European Commission, DG XIII, will publish "Telematics for health, global information society and developing countries". The publication presents the results of the EpiAim study (in collaboration with the World Health Organization) and explores and describes the current situation and trends in the use of health informatics and telematics in Africa and Latin America, two regions that are witnessing a sustained interest in these new technologies. Rapid changes currently taking place are effectively putting these countries "on the map" of the global information society. The book will help to achieve a better understanding of the opportunities in health informatics for the advancement of technical cooperation between Europe and developing regions, and provide an overview of potential business opportunities in emerging markets.
