The Commission raises no objections to authorization for State aid under Articles 92 and 93 of the EEC Treaty, with regard to the following: - France: Research and Technology Fund (FRT) refinancing 1991; for the purpose of increasing research work undertaken by enterprises. The budgetary appropriation totals FF 1.39 billion (just under ECU 200 million). - Spain: Plan Electronico y Informatico Nacional III (PEIN 1991-1993); with the objective of encouraging technological research and training in electronics and data processing. A budget of Pta 25,700 million is estimated for the three-year period. - Spain: Plan de Fomento de la Investigacion Farmaceutica (FARMA); encouraging technological research and training in the pharmaceuticals sector. A budget of Pta 2,805 million is planned for the three-year period. - Spain: Plan de desarrollo tecnologico en biotecnologias, tecnologias quimicas y tecnologias de los materiales (BQM); to encourage technological research and training in biotechnology, advanced chemistry and new materials. A budget of Pta 6,500 million is involved during 1991-1993. - Spain: Plan de apoyo technologico a los sectores basicos y transformadores (SBT); to encourage research and training in the steel, vehicle components, tanning, footwear, textiles, clothing, machinery and capital goods industries. The plan is budgeted at Pta 5,900 million over three years. - Spain: Plan de Infraestructura Tecnologica (PIT); to improve general research conditions through training, provision of laboratory equipment, scientific consultation and the preparation of research projects. A sum of Pta 11,000 million is to be committed over the period 1991-1993. - Spain: Programa de cualificacion tecnica e industrial en las empresas (PCTI); training of research workers and industrial and technical management staff. A budget of Pta 3,800 million covers 1991- 1993. - Spain: Plan del Registro de la Propriedad Industrial (RPI); to encourage adequate protection of industrial property (involving a budget of Pta 350 million over the three year period. - The Netherlands: Credits for technical development. The estimated budgetary appropriation is Hfl 135 million (ECU 58 million) during 1991.
