The European research project INCASI (International Network for Comparative Analysis of Social Inequalities) holds its third Global Meeting

The coordinating institution of the project met with the beneficiary universities of Europe and partners of Latin America in Montevideo (Uruguay), on December 17, 18 and 19, 2018, to present the advances of Thematic Research Groups (TRG) during the third phase and to lay the foundations for the fourth stage of the project: Projection.

Pedro López Roldán coordinator of the network belonging to the Institut d'Estudis del Treball (IET) and Sandra Fachelli, Task manager and researcher of the Grup d'Investigació en Educació y Treball (GRET) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, met on December 17, 18 and 19 in Montevideo (Uruguay) with the European and Latin American Main Responsible Investigators: Màrius Domínguez from the Universitat de Barcelona, Ildefonso Marqués-Perales from the Universidad de Sevilla, Laura Oso from the Universidade da Coruña, José Saturnino Martínez García from the Universidad de La Laguna, Leandro Sepúlveda from the Middlesex University, Eriikka Oinonen from the Tampereen Yliopisto, Renata Semenza from the Università degli Studi di Milano, Vincenzo Fortunato from the Università della Calabria, Julie Jarty from the Université de Toulouse Jean Jaurès, Eduardo Chávez Molina from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Agustín Salvia from the Universidad Católica Argentina, Leticia Muñiz Terra from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Patricia Scarponetti from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Marcelo Boado from the Universidad de la República, Gabriela Rubilar from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Paulina Benítez from the Universidad de Concepción, Emmanuelle Barozet from the Universidad de Chile, Graziela Perosa from the Universidade da Sao Paulo and Patricio Solís from the El Colegio de México to hold the third Global Meeting. On the first day of the meeting, the Academic Committee met and discussed the issues related to the balance of the third phase of the project, the secondments of researchers planned for the fourth phase of the project, the scientific production and the progress made in the construction of the analytical model AMOSIT (Analytical Model of Social Inequalities and Trajectories). The next two days were dedicated to the Scientific Meeting of the Network where the advances of the Thematic Research Groups of the project were presented. In these two days there were other researchers from the Early Stage network, Experienced researchers and emeritus researchers who accompany the development of the project. The scientific meeting was opened by the Dean of Social Sciences Carmen Midaglia of the University of the Republic and the Director of the Department of Sociology Verónica Filardo. The inaugural conference "Innovation and integrating concepts in scientific practice" was given by Anna Estany, Professor of the Department of Philosophy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The welcome was also done by Karina Batthyány, Executive Secretary of CLACSO (Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales). In the fourth phase of the project, called "Projection", the comparative research project between Europe and Latin America is prepared and the International Master for the Analysis of Social Inequalities is designed. At the same time, the preparation of the INCASI book began, it will contain the advances of the network in comparative research, thus accounting for the theoretical and methodological contributions of the AMOSIT (Analytical Model of Social Inequalities and Trajectories) model.
