The European Commission, DG XXIII, has published an invitation to tender for the production of an evaluation report on the Community's policy for companies, and SMEs in particular. Within the context of the Council Decision of 14 June 1993 relating to a "Multiannual Community Action Programme to reinforce main objectives and to guarantee continuity and consolidation of the policy for companies, especially SMEs in the Community" (OJ No L 161/68 of 2 July 1993), the Commission intends submitting to the European Parliament, Council and Economic and Social Committee an external evaluation report on the application of the abovementioned Decision, including the evaluation of the cost-effectiveness report. This evaluation will involve, in particular, the measures applicable under Article 2 of the aforementioned Decision, which will be explained in Annex I of the Decision.
