Freedom to Operate, Digitisation and IP in International Business: New Publications and Webinars by the European IP Helpdesk

2020 has been a busy year for the European IP Helpdesk so far! As on-site training events had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the team came up with an enlarged online training portfolio, including additional sessions of the standard webinars as well as completely new ones on different IP and business-related topics. Feel free to join one or all of our upcoming sessions: • 27 May 2020, “Maximising the Impact of Horizon 2020 Project Results”: • 3 June 2020, “IP Management in ICT Projects” (brand new topic!): • 10 June 2020, “Freedom to Operate”: Complementing a rich portfolio of digital and audio-visual material published throughout the first quarter of 2020, the latest productions include: CASE STUDY “FREEDOM TO OPERATE” A new case study showcases how a rather late identified third party patent almost killed an innovation project – but ultimately resulted in a significantly improved product that has innovated the protective clothing industry. Read more: ONLINE SPECIAL “IP MANAGEMENT & DIGITISATION” Another online special, “IP Management and Digitisation”, has been created in collaboration with the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) at the University of Strasbourg. Here, the above mentioned webinar is complemented by an interview clip with Professor Aleaxander Wurzer (CEIPI) and an article on the topic. Read more: GUIDE “IP MANAGEMENT IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS” Before venturing into foreign markets, it is vital that you protect your IP assets such as patents, know-how, trademarks or designs. This new guide intends to outline the basic steps you should take in terms of IP management, before expanding your business abroad. Read more: ONLINE SPECIAL “WORLD IP DAY 2020” On the occasion of this year’s World IP Day on 26 April, the team published an online special focusing on this year’s theme “Innovate for a Green Future”. Besides a short teaser clip, it contains a brand-new fact sheet on valorisation policies by the European Commission, a case study and a fact sheet focusing on renewable energies.
