Summaries of ESSI pilot phase projects
The European Commission, DG III, has published a booklet presenting summaries of the pilot phases of ESSI projects under the ESPRIT programme for information technologies of the Third Framework Programme for RTD activities (1990-1994). The goal of the European System and Software Initiative (ESSI) is to promote improvements in the software development process in industry to achieve greater efficiency, higher quality, and greater economies of scale. ESSI was an accompanying measure within the framework of ESPRIT and software best practice, and was designed to improve productivity-enhancing supports such as management practices and procedures.
