The Scientific Academy of Lower Austria (School of Systems Engineering and Automation), in cooperation with Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, will launch an Engineering Management Executive Education Programme. The programme was developed with the support of the Bureau for International Research and Technology Cooperation (BIT) in Vienna. BIT is the Austrian VALUE Relay Centre which acts as a service centre for prospective and active participants in Community research and technology programmes under the Fourth Framework Programme for RTD activities (1994-1998). The programme is tailor-made for Europe's small and medium-sized enterprises facing a growing and increasingly competitive market. It is designed to prepare graduates from technical and economic universities for leadership roles in technical, corporate and national organizations. The modular programme is a combination between high-tech fields like CIM, IMS, mechatronics, microsystems, artificial intelligence, neuronal networks, fuzzy technologies, and business administration. The target group consists of graduates from technical and economic universities with or without practical experience, graduates from other universities and from technology programmes with significant practical experience as well as persons with similar qualifications. The aim of the organizers is to develop an education programme aimed at SMEs, especially for those who are participating in a CRAFT project. The programme will start in September 1995. Applicants have the possibility to register until July 1995.
