The next meeting of the European Parliamentary Intergroup on "Non-food uses of agricultural products" will take place on 15 June 1995 in Strasbourg. The aim of the Intergroup is to promote the use of agricultural products in the industrial and animal nutrition fields. The development of non-food uses is largely dependent on a reduction in the cost prices of the industrial by-products derived from the agricultural products, which have to be competitive in relation to other products already on the market. In this context, the Intergroup will hold a debate on "What increase in yield, in the field of vegetable production, can reasonably be expected?". The debate will be introduced by Mr. Guy Paillotin, President of the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique Francaise.
