The scheme, which began in September 1990, has an overall budget of ECU 1.17 million for the period up to the end of 1993. By subsidising wage costs it permits firms having not more than 100 employees to engage a recent graduate for the implementation of R&D aimed at the creation of a new product, production process or service.
