The European Commission's specific programme for transport, adopted under the Fourth Framework Programme for research and technological development and demonstration (1994-1998), has announced that the date of publication for the second call for proposals under this programme has been changed from 15 September 1995 to 15 December 1995. The new closing date for this call will now be 15 March 1996. The date for the submission of proposals for "exploratory awards", aimed at providing financial support for SMEs wishing to prepare research proposals for submission to the Transport programme, will, however, continue to remain open with the next indicative closing date for submission of proposals being 11 October 1995. Up to ECU 12 million is available, under this programme, for exploratory awards and other SME specific measures. Programme research areas covered include: - Strategic research; - Rail transport; - Integrated transport chains; - Air transport; - Urban transport; - Waterborne transport; - Road transport. Indicative interim and last deadlines for the submission of exploratory award proposals are: - 15 October 1995; - 31 January 1996; - 12 June 1996; - 16 October 1996.
