Robust fish for a resilient industry

From diagnostics to vaccines and selective breeding programmes, the Cure4Aqua project’s innovative solutions look to prevent aquatic animal diseases.

Healthy fish are the foundation of a resilient and thriving EU aquaculture sector. That’s why the Cure4Aqua project is developing vaccines designed to protect farmed seafood against some of the most threatening pathogens. The project is also creating selective breeding programmes to help fish better manage disease, technologies for detecting and diagnosing diseases, and bio-based alternatives to the antibiotics currently used to control pathogens. The net result is a safer, healthier and more resilient approach to seafood production.
