The European Commission, DG XIII, has published an open call for proposals for a study entitled "Impact of telematics on the health-care sector." The study will consist of an in-depth analysis of the use of telematics in health care, paying particular attention to its impact on the efficiency, organizational structures and employment practices in the delivery of health-care services in Europe. It should take into account the political and organizational framework of the health-care sector in each country. The current status of implementation of telematics applications in the health-care sector will be examined taking into account regional, organizational and management aspects. Financial and legal aspects should also be examined. In addition, the study will look at future developments of telematics applications the health-care sector and the underlying conditions for this development.
