European Year of safety, hygiene and health at work (1992)
Council Decision 91/388/EEC of 25 July 1991 adopts an action programme for the European Year of safety, hygiene and health at work (1992). Coordinated actions, detailed in an Annex to the Decision, shall be carried out by the Community, the Member States and the social partners to promote and enhance the substantial body of Community measures in this field. The European Year shall take particular account of: Air cleanliness at work; safety at work; well-being at work; measures to combat noise and vibration. Applications for financing of actions shall be submitted to the Commission via the Member States, except in the case of actions to be proposed by the Commission. Taking precedence are: Those projects producing results of practical use; those involving the organization of working meetings with a limited number of participants; those benefiting SMEs, high-risk workers or fostering transnational exchanges; those continuable after 1992. Community resources of ECU 12 million are deemed necessary for implementation of the Decision.
