Authorization of State aids - January/February 1995
In accordance with Articles 92 and 93 of the Treaty, the European Commission has granted authorization for the following State aids: - Denmark: Trade and industry promotion providing grants for business advisory services, training, export promotion and R&D for SMEs (ECU 95 million for 1995); - Germany (West Berlin): Initiative for environmentally-friendly production aimed at stimulating R&D for ecological, environmental production (ECU 2.9 million); - Germany (Berlin): National cofinancing of aid for environmental protection and innovation providing grants to Berlin-based SMEs (ECU 15.2 million in total); - Germany (Berlin): Information and communication technology measures aimed at stimulating research (ECU 19 million); - Germany (Thüringen): Support for SMEs in the R&D service sector with a view to creating market opportunities for private research organizations (ECU 31 million); - United Kingdom: Support to "Smart & Spur" programme including a Merit Award for small firms and support for products under research (ECU 88.5 million); - United Kingdom: Support to OSO Oil and Gas R&D scheme to promote research in the oil and gas domain (ECU 12.5 million); - France: Refinancing of large innovative projects (ECU 65.7 million); - The Netherlands: Support to "University Clusters Philips" for the stimulation of collaborative physical research (ECU 1.5 million); - The Netherlands: Subsidy schemes to encourage energy saving and the use of renewable energy (ECU 25.4 million).
