The European Commission, DG XIII, has published a brochure describing the activities of the Community's INNOVATION programme for the dissemination and optimization of the results of EU research activities (12 pages). The INNOVATION programme continues and expands on the earlier SPRINT and VALUE programmes. The overall aim of the programme is to help European industry become more competitive by making the most of available technologies and techniques. In this context, three inter-dependent objectives have been identified: - Promotion of an environment favourable to innovation and absorption of new technologies by enterprises; - Stimulation a European open area for diffusing technologies and knowledge; - Supply of appropriate technologies. The brochure includes an overview of the specific aim pursued under each objective area, a budget breakdown for the period 1995-1998, a planned implementation schedule and a list of useful contact points for the programme.
