European Consumer Guide to the Single Market
The European Commission has published the second edition of the "European Consumer Guide to the Single Market", designed to highlight the concrete benefits that Europe offers to consumers. The second edition, which has been thoroughly updated, contains two parts. The first part describes the legislative framework and provides practical tips on cross-border shopping. The second part outlines Community rules in regard to consumer protection governing nutrition, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, toys, textiles, motor vehicles, travel, housing and financial services. The new edition of the 250-page guide is available on paper, as well as on the World Wide Web, in nine languages (the Greek and Swedish versions will be published in the near future).
