1995 Annual Report of the European Environment Agency
The European Environment Agency (EEA) has published its Annual Report for 1995. The report contains details of the Agency's organization and activities in general, as well as the major achievements and activities of 1995. Highlights of the EEA's activities during 1995 included: - Publication of the Dobris Assessment of the environment in 46 European countries; - Report on the environment in the EU for the review of the Fifth Environmental Action Programme; - Environment and Health monograph, published jointly with the World Health Organization; - Development of the European Environment Information and Observation Network (EIONET); - Delivery of reports from the European Topic Centres on inland waters, nature and air quality; - Seminars and workshops on the state of Europe's environment and other subjects; - Visit to the EEA by Commission President Jacques Santer and Environment Commissioner Ritt Bjerregaard on the EEA's second anniversary; - Launch of the EEA's homepage on the World Wide Web.
