Authorizations for State aid: R&D projects
A series of authorizations for State aid (cases where the Commission raises no objections) concern State support for the following research and technological development projects: - France: . 1991 refinancing of PUMA scheme - support for R&D projects incorporating advanced materials into industrial technologies; . 1991 refinancing of ANVAR (Agence Nationale pour la Valorisation de la Recherche) - all stages of R&D, with emphasis on applied research. - Germany: . Aid to laser research (EUREKA project 194); . Programme to promote innovation and R&D in SMEs (Thuringia); . Preparation and planning for technology and start-up centres, the establishment of I&TT and demonstration centres and of scientific and technical information offices (Thuringia); . Technological back-up services for SMEs (Thuringia); . I&TT consultancy services for firms (Rhineland-Palatinate); . CIM manufacturing techniques in the new Laender - aid for scientific personnel costs). - United Kingdom: . Local Enterprises Development Unit Grant Scheme (Northern Ireland) - stimulation of R&D collaborative efforts; . Product Development Programme - Northern Ireland (formerly entitled Research and Development Grant Scheme - Northern Ireland) to encourage projects involving the development of a new or substantially new product which will be manufactured in the Community or involving some element of technology likely to lead to the use of new processes in the Community; . PROMETHEUS (EUREKA project 45) - to facilitate the participation of some UK enterprises in the project; . LINK initiative - to strengthen collaborative research between industry, universities and research centres); . Advanced Technology Programme (ATP) - to encourage collaborative research between companies; . General Industrial Collaborative Projects (GICP) in basic industrial research. - Italy: . Aid for Telettra SpA - integrated industrial automation; . Saras Raffinerie Sard SpA - new advanced technology low sulphur refining process; . Aid for HS Elettronica Progretti SpA for R&D under EUREKA project 321 on integrated flexible assembly cell transputers); . EUREKA project 392 EMYCA - study and design of flexible assembly lines for the balancing of armatures for electric motors; . EUREKA project 352 LSR - to develop new silicone-rubber advanced production technology, notably in the electronic and health sectors; . EUREKA project 278 CALIES - creation of an integrated medical system enabling paraplegic and tetraplegic patients to recover their ability to walk. - The Netherlands: . Pilot projects to promote the realization of an infrastructure for telematics in the Netherlands; . Stimulation of business related research by associations.
