The European Community Course Credit Transfer Scheme (ECTS) is a six-year pilot scheme, launched in 1989 within the framework of the ERASMUS programme, which aims to improve academic recognition arrangements between Member States by promoting and developing a system of credit transfer of study periods between higher education institutions in the Community. In this context, the Commission seeks assistance from an external organization or organizations to undertake a mid-term evaluation. Only tenderers able to cover the topic of academic credit transfer in all twelve Member States will be eligible. The legal basis for the evaluation will be in the form of a contract covering a period of eight months from 1 June 1992.Full information plus terms of reference are available from: Commission of the European Communities Task Force "Human Resources, Education, Training and Youth" Attn.
