The Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre regularly publishes "Technical reports" outlining the results of research undertaken by the Institute. The IPTS' remit is the observation and follow-up of technological change, in order to understand better its links with economic and social change. The aim of this work is to support the decision-maker in the management of change. In this, its work mainly addresses the Commission, although it also works with the European Parliament and other EU agencies and bodies. Reports recently published by the IPTS in the "Technical Reports" series (with their catalogue numbers and language of publication) include: - Feasibility study on the establishment in Sicily of a Mediterranean agency for the promotion of renewable energy and efficient management of water: EUR 17255 (Italian); - Energy demand and CO2 emissions from the world transport sector: Past evidence and forecasts: EUR 17256 (English); - Report of IPTS workshop (29-30 August 1996) - European research towards the 21st century: EUR 17257 (English); - Prospects for the use of biomass as an energy source in the European Union: EUR 17260 (French); - Contribution to the STOA project on "The car of the future, the future of the car": EUR 17277 (English).
