The European Commission has published a new edition of the Vademecum for the Youth for Europe programme, which should be used by those preparing proposals for funding under the 1997 budget. The Vademecum provides a brief guide to the programme's aims and objectives, as well as its context. It then outlines each of the objectives of the five Actions supported by Youth for Europe: - Intra-Community activities directly involving young people; - Youth workers; - Cooperation between Member States' structures; - Exchanges with non-member countries; - Information for young people and youth research. The Vademecum serves as a guide for applicants. It provides information on the format of proposals and the priority areas for which projects are sought. For 1997, the total budget available is ECU 24.9 million.
