Technical Reports from IPTS
The Institute of Prospective Technological Studies, part of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, has recently published three new studies in its "Technical Report" series. The IPTS' work, carried out principally on behalf of the Commission, is to assess and evaluate new technologies and their effects on society. The present studies are the results of research carried out by the Institute's own staff, or by outside researchers on its behalf. The reports are (with their catalogue numbers): - The ethical dimension of technology watch and assessment (EUR 17279): The proceedings of a seminar which looked at implementing ethical aspects into technology watch, one of the IPTS' principal activities; - Overview of activities on nanotechnology and related technologies (EUR 16461): A study which analyses the current state of nanotechnology, and looks at prospects for its development, drawing conclusions and recommendations for action at European level; - Climate change research policy: Updates - No 9 January 1997 (EUR 17303): One of a regular series of surveys monitoring research on global climate change, in particular rising sea levels.
