A call for tenders concerns the preparation of information and discussion documents covering the whole range of legal issues to be examined by the Legal Advisory Board (LAB) which supports the Commission in the study of problems raised by the development of the information market and information services and the establishment of a Community information services market (IMPACT 2 programme). Topics so far studied and discussed comprise: Intellectual property rights; personal data protection; liability of information service providers; transfer authentication; computer crime; confidentiality of database searches; access to information held by public bodies; legal barriers to the establishment of trans-European videotex networks. Recipients of the documents include members of the LAB, information law experts, academic institutions, government authorities (in particular members of the IMPACT committee) as well as private sector organizations. The object is to improve Europe-wide awareness of the problems affecting the information services market. Candidates should have a good experience in information law and the drafting of documents aimed both at experts and non-experts. Technical specifications for the submission of tenders may be obtained on request from: Commission of the European Communities DG XIII/B/1 Jean Monnet Building (B4/109) L-2920 Luxembourg Fax +352-43012847
