The European Commission, DG XIII, has published an invitation to tender for the completion of a study on data exchange (DATEX) for telematics networks to support information exchange between traffic control and information centres. The objective of the study will be to examine additional requirements in functionality, with the objective of: - Leading towards harmonization of interfaces between existing and future traffic/transport systems, exchanging traffic data in electronic formats; - Developing and maintaining service and systems interfaces to achieve full interoperability; - Providing public authorities of Member States and service providers with the tools to exchange traffic-related information on-line in a standardized way.
