Cooperation in science and technology with Central and Eastern European Countries
The Commission of the European Communities calls for proposals in the context of pilot and preparatory actions it is launching with the objective of exploring the perspectives of scientific and technological cooperation between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the European Community. Actions include: - (a) Scientific and technical mobility (research fellowships) in the exact and natural sciences, economic and management sciences, human and social sciences; - (b) Preparatory actions in the setting-up of pan-European scientific networks, and organization of and participation in conferences, workshops, and seminars (scientific areas as above); - (c) Joint research projects in priority areas between public and private organizations and enterprises of the EC and the Central/Eastern European Countries (in environment, health, social sciences, information and communication technologies, materials and production, agro-industry and food); - (d) Support for the participation of organizations and enterprises of Central/Eastern Europe in projects within those specific Community programmes for RTD which allow such; - (e) Support for participation by these countries in COST actions Participation is open to legal and natural persons established in the Community or in Central/Eastern European countries which have a cooperation agreement with the EC covering science and technology development. Participation of other countries is under consideration.
