The Commission's "Biomedical and Health Research Newsletter" is published three times a year by Directorate-General XII/F-6, Medical Research Division. It covers the specific programme for RTD in biomedicine and health (BIOMED, 1990-1994), and aims to inform the European Scientific community, public authorities, and the general public about European Community activity in this field. The Newsletter provides much useful information on research undertaken in the programme's four areas: - Development of coordinated research on prevention, care, and health systems; - Major health problems and diseases of great socio-economic impact; - Human genome analysis; - Research on biomedical ethics. Reports include information and announcements from the Commission and relevant advisory expert committees plus details of related actions, publications and events.
