Forest Research and the 6th Framework Programme - Challenges and Opportunities
These topics will be presented by keynote speakers and discussed at panel sessions in order to identify potential topics for networking and to discuss the links to relevant other disciplines. Participants of the forest research community will have an opportunity to present their views and visions on how forest-related research can contribute to the 6th Framework Programme and ERA. The seminar can serve as a platform for making contacts with other actors in the field. At the seminar, there will be two poster sessions, during which networks can present themselves. We welcome posters on research topics, networks or project concepts/plans relevant for the 6th Framework Programme in the field of forest-related research., e.g. topics presented as an Expression of Interest to the Commission call of June 7. The keynote speakers and panelists of the seminar include representatives of the European Commission DG Research, representatives of end-users of forest research and other stakeholders, European top specialists in various fields of forest research, as well as representatives of other fields of science relevant for forest research. The event is organised by the European Forest Institute in co-operation with ECOFOR with support from the EU project QLK5-CT-2002-30221 'Improving and Advancing the Co-ordination of Forest Research and Development in Europe' (IMACFORD). ,For further information, please consult the following Web address:,http://www.efi.fi/events/2002/Forest_research_in_6FP/ or contact Brita Pajari (email: brita.pajari@efi.fi) ,
