Lisbon will host the II International Congress "Biocities2002 Biotechnology in Europe" on November 28th & 29th 2002

This innovative event, intended to promote a comprehensive debate about the means and the conditions for the development of biotechnology in the European cities, had its first appearance in Hamburg, with Biocities 2001.,

Following the steps of Biocities 2001, the Portuguese Biotechnology Information Centre (CIB - Centro de Informação de Biotecnologia), in co-operation with national and international higher education and research institutions, organises this year in Lisbon Biocities2002, held at Institute of Agronomy (Instituto Superior de Agronomia), on the 28th and 29th of November., ,The congress is focused on 4 major areas of debate:,- Social impact of biotechnology,- Biotechnological challenges in medicine, agriculture and environment ,- Education and training in biotechnology ,- Information exchange and networking
